Swindon Supermarine 2 - 1 Winchester City

on Mon 26 Oct

A totally different match to the F.A. Cup  game a few weeks ago at Supermarine, writes our regular message board correspondant, Richard Hayter, but it always was going to be, he said.

City started brightly and Dan Cann headed into the net from a Kinger corner to put City ahead. Supermarine drew level before half time when the impressive Bradley Gray, the Marine No 7 scored.

Second half and it was Mr Gray again who scored the winner, in fact he was everywhere, scoring goals , setting up chances and winning balls, man of the match. City huffed and puffed a bit and could not find a way through to force a draw in a game that we might have won, but for good defending by Supermarine.

Commenting on the game, Swindon's Manager, Dave Webb, . 'We set the team up a certain way and I’m glad that it worked. We still played 4-4-2, which was the same as them, but we had a plan to make the game narrow and limit the space for their attacking options.'

City : Brendon Norris, Adam Tomasso, Danny King, Jamie Barron, Leigh Mills, Rob Flooks, Adam Roberts, Bouwe Bosma, Dan Cann, Warren Bentley,  Matt Benham, Zach Glasspool, Luke Benali, Jamie Hubbard  Fransico Santafe-Vivo.
