City so close!

Winchester City came very close to earning a draw in a very closely fought match at Concord Rangers in the FA Cup 3rd qualifying round yesterday on Canvey Island.

City almost got off to perfect start when Warren Bentley broke through in the opening minutes. Two goals for Warren Bentley in each half, one from the penalty spot was not quite enough against opposition three divisions higher. Concord Rangers finished 3 - 2 winners althoughCity gad chances in the last fifteen minutes which could have earned at least a replay.

It wasn't to be but the whole team, managers, supporters did Winchester City proud. The only other disappointment was the poor showing of Concord Rangers supporters. Only 202 watching and halfof those made the trip up from Hampshire.
